[6 Weeks Before Christmas]
Hosting meals is a wonderful way to connect with friends and family, but to truly enjoy your gathering, your dining space needs to be welcoming and uncluttered. Often, dining rooms can become multipurpose areas or clutter catch-alls, which can make hosting stressful rather than enjoyable. Let's walk through how to organize your dining room.

Declutter Surfaces
Remove items that don't belong in the dining room or that aren't used regularly for meals. Start with the dining room table itself. This area often becomes covered with stuff that you don't know where else to put. Take the time now to go through it and put things where they go, toss, or donate.
Do the same for other surfaces in this room, like a china cabinet or buffet.
Next up, check the corners of your room. Sometimes things get stored in this less-used room that don't actually belong.
Donations that need to go? Put them in your car!
Stuff you were going to sell that you haven't gotten around to in 6 months? Add to the donate pile!
Kids' artwork that you don't actually want? Toss it.
That project that's halfway done? Ask yourself if you will actually finish it before the holidays. If the answer is no, but you still want to finish it, try to contain it and move it to another place in your home so you can easily pick it back up later. If the answer is no, and you know you won't finish it, time to toss it.
Declutter Storage Furniture
Now it's time to go through your cabinet or buffet or any other storage piece that's in the dining room. Take stock of what you have and make some decisions what you really love and use. Donate things if you know you won't use them. Now is also a good time to bring out any larger serving ware that you may keep somewhere else in the home.

Freshen Up Your China and Glassware
If time allows, take a moment to wipe down your china and glassware. If you have china but rarely use it, this is the year! Clean off the dust and make this holiday beautiful!
Organize Your Dining Room for Less Stress!
A little preparation goes a long way in making your hosting experience smooth and enjoyable. By decluttering and preparing your dining room beforehand, you’ll avoid the last-minute rush and focus on enjoying the company of your guests.
